David Gambacorta

David Gambacorta is a writer-at-large at the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also written for Esquire, The Baffler, Longreads and The Marshall Project.

He previously worked as a senior reporter at Philadelphia Magazine, and as a staff writer at the Philadelphia Daily News. In 2015, he was a fellow at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

His work has been recognized with multiple awards for distinguished writing and investigative reporting from a number of organizations, including the Pennsylvania News Media Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. He has twice been named a National City and Regional Magazine Award finalist.
He survives on a steady diet of coffee and bagels.
